One of the things I enjoy most when I help people find a home is seeing their excitement as they plan and discuss the changes that will make the house their home.  An added benefit comes when I am invited back to the house to see and experience all that they have achieved in their plans.  This was the exact scenario with Will and Candice when they bought this retro 1980’s, split foyer home as first time home buyers.  The house had been well cared for but definitely needed some love and Will and Candice are the perfect pair to pour their personality into this house.


Will and Candice had been renting for a while and decided it was time to find a place of their own. Because they have an active family, it worked best for me to initially meet them at their rental home to discuss plans moving forward.   Will, being a military veteran, qualified for a VA loan.  Unfortunately his lender was not very responsive and we found ourselves at a standstill.  I work with military veterans on a regular basis and was glad to introduce him to Crystal Vroman of Cornerstone Home Lending.  Crystal is a veteran herself and clearly knows the in’s and out’s of the VA loan process.  It was a wonderful match. 


As we prepared for the process, I helped them understand our market and that given their popular price point and the limited inventory it could take a while.  When this gem on Kitty Lane became available we didn’t waste any time adjusting our schedules so we could get in and take a look. They immediately knew this was the home for them and we discussed an offer they would be comfortable submitting.  Because the home had received so much interest the seller’s were tired of having to leave for all the showings and were grateful we had moved forward with an offer they could accept. 


The takeaways from this transaction are 1) I find it a privilege working with and helping military veterans, 2) I love helping people find the home that works best for their needs and 3) I spend the time educating my clients in the process so there are few surprises along the way.
